“Get Yourself Together” - a song I first wrote about 25 years ago and recently rediscovered on an old demo. Back then I was hugely inspired by Quincy Jones production style, his work with George Benson and Michael Jackson on the albums "Give me the night" or "Off The Wall" , but also then new bands like Jamiroquai, and dreamed of shaping this idea into a groovy disco/soul track with horns and strings. For my new album, I rewrote the lyrics, added a brand-new middle section, and finally brought it to life with the spirit I had always envisioned – a song about turning life around.
