German soul singer and super guitarist Torsten Goods pours his very soul into our ears with "Soul Deep," his eighth album. Far more than just a follow-up to his successful album "Soul Searching”, the twelve new tracks, either self-composed or co-written with his British soul brother Bluey Maunick of Incognito, present the 44-year-old as a mature artist, heavily influenced by soul, but also jazz, blues, and the summery West Coast/AOR sounds of late 70s California. As virtuosic as this music may be, as polished and well- produced as it is, the sounds of his voice(s) and instruments touch the soul of the listener. It's a balm and enrichment for everyone, profound and intense, and really "Soul Deep."
